Obituary

The beautiful life of Luevinia McFarlin began on Saturday, January 8, 1944 to the late Mack Karry “Dee” McFarlin and Annie Bell Diggs McFarlin.

In her early years, Lue graduated from Gary High School in 1963. She attended the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church until moving away to Washington, D.C in 1967, where she resided until her death. While living in D.C., she was employed at Norell Health Care and
Petson Health Care until her health begin to fail. Luevinia received her nursing certification from Georgetown School of Nursing and later became a home health nurse until retirement.

Fishing, gardening, cooking, sewing, spending time with family were some of Lue’s hobbies, but her most favorite hobby was talking on the phone for hours with everybody, especially her late sister, Etherline Hayes.

Luevinia’s passing has torn the hearts of many that loved and admired her, especially her family. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: Four Daughters: Cynthia (Albert) Campbell of Chesterfield, SC, Karen (Kevin) Campbell-Greene of Laurel, Maryland, Jacqueline “Jackie” Campbell of Washington, D.C. and Tracey Campbell of Charlotte, N.C, One granddaughter, Brittany Campbell of Chesterfield, S.C., Five Grandsons: Devontae Cash of Chesterfield, S.C., Shawn Whitaker, Jr., Brandon Whitaker and Aaren Whitaker all of Laurel, MD and Devyn Campbell of Washington, D.C., Three sisters: Dorethea (George) McDuffie, Genora Dixon and Peggy Evans all of Chesterfield, SC, a special niece she raised as her own, Linda M. Jefferson of Blythewood, S.C., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Luevinia was proceeded in death by her parents, Mack Karry and Annie Bell, a stepmother: Elizabeth “Grandma” McFarlin, two sisters: Etherline “Pete” Hayes and Elizabeth “Liz” McFarlin, a brother: Robert “Buck” McFarlin, and a niece Dorothy “Lottie” McFarlin.

In the early morning of Thursday, March 29, 2018, Luevinia McFarlin transitioned into eternal rest believing and trusting in God, and knowing that He who safely brought him would safely take him back. Although her presence will be sadly missed by family and close friends alike, she will continue to live in the hearts and memories of all those whose lives she touched while she journeyed here on earth. We love you Lue and you will reign in our thoughts forever, for this is not a goodbye but See You Later.
